You can always find me in my kitchen making pops and cakes! These aren't those normal cake pops that I make - they are 2 bites of delicious!
How this all began
After the Cookie Exchange I took to surfing the web looking for something that was a little bit easier and a little less messier than the brownie pops - as good as they were - they really were a pain in the butt!! So as I was surfing the web looking for some new ideas I found Bakerella and I couldn't get enough of her website! Those adorable little chicks caught my attention and all I knew was that I wanted to make them! Trial and error, and trust me, I made many, many errors! Many batches of cake went in the garbage and my ever faithful Golden Mike would sit right next to me because he quickly learned that when Mom is in the kitchen baking there is going to be something tasty flinging off the spoons that always ends up in his mouth! All of my friends know I am a texture person and I wasn't thrilled with the texture of the cake pops. As cute as they were I just wasn't a fan of them. A co-worker even went to Starbucks to buy theirs and we split them so I could compare! But I would not be discouraged by texture alone so back to surfing I went looking for something other than the cake pops. That was when I found another site thanks to Bakerella's! My Little Cupcake Pops! I immediately fell in love with the way her little Oreo "pops" looked - absolutely adorable! Again, I wanted to make them! So I ordered one of her little cupcake molds and waited patiently for it to come in the mail so I could try making these mini cupcakes from Oreo's and cream cheese - I know - disgusting sounding isn't it! I have since modified my methods and have ended up with delightful little pops that have been a big hit! The girls at work are loving me and hating me all at the same time! I then started thinking about different ways to show case my pops and thought that a cake would be perfect and that was how my cakes came to be! I have fun making these and with each cake that I make I think of something new to try! Word of mouth and I have been making 2 cakes a month and loving every minute of it!!
